Auto Accident Foot & Ankle Injury Treatment

Car accidents and slip-and-falls put real, often overlooked, damage through the feet and ankles. Dr. Orlando Cedeno, DPM treats these injuries directly and documents every visit with the objective, claim-ready records your attorney or adjuster needs.

Foot & ankle injuries we treat

The feet and ankles absorb enormous force in a collision or fall, and injuries there are frequently under-documented in an initial ER visit. We regularly evaluate and treat:

  • Fractures of the foot, ankle, and toes from impact or crush trauma
  • Ligament tears and severe sprains from a fall, misstep, or bracing on impact
  • Achilles tendon injuries from sudden trauma or forced dorsiflexion
  • Nerve damage and post-traumatic neuropathy following crush or impact injuries
  • Chronic post-traumatic pain that develops or worsens weeks after the initial incident

How we work with attorneys & adjusters

We know a treating physician's records carry weight in a claim. Every visit produces objective findings, imaging correlation, and a clear treatment plan — documentation built to hold up, not just a routine chart note. With your patient's authorization, we'll send records directly to your office or the claims adjuster, and coordinate on Letters of Protection where that fits. We also work directly with nurse case managers on scheduling and status updates, so a case doesn't stall waiting on a callback.

Our treatment approach

  • Conservative care first: the least invasive option that will actually work, with surgery reserved for injuries that truly need it.
  • Accurate diagnosis first: exam and imaging correlation to identify the full extent of injury — not just the obvious one.
  • Fracture & surgical care: in-house treatment for breaks and injuries that need surgical repair.
  • MLS laser therapy & shockwave therapy: to accelerate healing and resolve chronic post-traumatic pain.
  • Return-to-function planning: clear written guidance on activity restrictions and recovery timelines for the claim file.

FAQ

Auto accident & personal injury questions, answered

Do you treat foot and ankle injuries from car accidents?

Yes. Dr. Cedeno and our team regularly evaluate and treat foot and ankle injuries from motor vehicle accidents and slip-and-fall incidents — from fractures and ligament tears to nerve damage and chronic post-traumatic pain.

Can you work with my attorney on a Letter of Protection?

In many personal injury cases, yes. Have your attorney's office contact us with the case details, and we'll let you know whether a Letter of Protection arrangement fits your situation so treatment isn't delayed while a claim is pending.

Will I get documentation my attorney or adjuster can use?

Yes. Every visit is documented with objective exam findings, imaging correlation, and a clear treatment plan — records built to support a claim, not just a chart note. We can send records directly to your attorney's office or the claims adjuster with your authorization.

What if I already saw the ER or another doctor first?

That's common and not a problem. Bring whatever records, imaging, or incident reports you have, and we'll pick up your care from there — reviewing prior findings and building on (or correcting) the existing treatment plan.

What should I have ready when I call to schedule?

Your claim number and insurance or adjuster information, if you have it, plus any incident report or prior imaging. Having that up front helps us verify coverage and get you seen faster — but don't hold off calling if you don't have it yet.

Is this different from a work injury?

Car accidents and slip-and-falls are handled as personal injury cases, separate from on-the-job injuries. If your injury happened at work, see our dedicated Workers' Comp page instead.

Have a client or patient who needs foot & ankle care?
