Heel Pain Treatment in Jupiter, FL
"Heel pain" is a symptom, not a diagnosis, and at least seven different conditions cause it. The right treatment starts with knowing exactly which one you have.
The seven usual suspects
Where your heel hurts, and when, narrows the list fast:
| Condition | Where it hurts | Telltale pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Plantar fasciitis | Bottom of heel, toward the arch | Stabbing first-step pain in the morning |
| Achilles tendonitis | Back of heel / cord above it | Stiffness starting activity; worse with hills & sport |
| Heel spur syndrome | Bottom of heel | Usually rides along with fasciitis; spur itself rarely the culprit |
| Retrocalcaneal bursitis | Back of heel, deep | Squeeze tenderness; aggravated by stiff shoe backs |
| Baxter's nerve entrapment | Inner heel | Burning quality; can mimic stubborn fasciitis |
| Fat pad atrophy | Center of heel | Deep bruise feeling; worse barefoot on hard floors |
| Calcaneal stress fracture | Whole heel | Pain with every step, worse over weeks; squeeze test positive |
This is why "I tried inserts and they didn't work" is so common: inserts treat some of these well and others not at all. An exam by a foot and ankle specialist sorts this out in one visit, often with in-office imaging the same day.
How we treat heel pain
Once the cause is confirmed, treatment is matched to it, typically starting with the least invasive effective option:
- MLS laser therapy for fasciitis, bursitis, and nerve irritation, painless and fast.
- Shockwave therapy for chronic fasciitis and insertional tendon problems.
- Orthotics and footwear strategy when mechanics are driving the overload.
- Targeted stretching and strengthening matched to your diagnosis.
- PRP or other regenerative options for resistant cases.
- Immobilization for stress fractures, the one heel problem where rest truly is the treatment.
One visit. A real answer.
Stop guessing which heel condition you have, find out, and start fixing it the same day.
